Overview
Vanar is a crypto project with roots in gaming and digital collectibles. Its token, VANRY, now runs on Base, an Ethereum-based network. Vanar’s current focus is software for creating and operating “AI Organizations”: businesses that use AI agents to carry out tasks such as customer support, marketing, and service delivery. The project connects these businesses to on-chain payments, records, and tokens. (swap.vanarchain.com)
The name Vanar Chain reflects an earlier stage of the project. Vanar previously operated its own layer-1 blockchain, where VANRY paid transaction fees and supported staking. Following a 2026 migration, the team began winding down that chain and moved its main activity to Base. That change is central to understanding VANRY’s role today: it is an ecosystem token used within Vanar’s products, while transactions on Base use ETH for network fees. (linkedin.com)
History & Team
From Virtua to Vanar
Vanar grew out of Terra Virtua, later called Virtua, a project founded in 2017 by Jawad Ashraf and Gary Bracey. Virtua focused on digital collectibles, games, and virtual experiences. Ashraf brought a background in software and technology businesses, while Bracey brought experience from the video game industry. The two founders’ interest in interactive entertainment shaped Vanar’s early direction. (medium.com)
In 2023, the project adopted the Vanar name and began replacing Virtua’s TVK token with VANRY at a one-for-one ratio. It then developed a standalone blockchain aimed at applications that needed frequent, inexpensive transactions. Gaming, entertainment, and consumer brands were prominent parts of that plan. (medium.com)
The next major change came in 2026. Vanar migrated VANRY from Ethereum, Polygon, and its own chain to a new token contract on Base. The migration window closed on September 10, 2026. On September 17, Vanar said the migration was complete and announced that the old layer-1 network would begin winding down the following day. Its development focus shifted to AI Organizations, Foundry, and related services on Base. (swap.vanarchain.com)
Technology & How It Works
Building an AI Organization
Vanar calls an AI-assisted business an Org. An Org can have a founder, a set of AI workers, rules for what those workers may do, and a treasury that receives payments. Foundry is the workspace designed to bring these parts together. A founder describes a product or service, sets up the AI team, adds business knowledge, and prepares offers that customers can order. Customer payments are designed to settle in USDC on Base. (onvanar.com)
Several named components handle different jobs. Neutron stores the knowledge that an Org’s agents use. xBPP applies rules to their actions and spending. The Org Commerce Protocol, or OCP, defines signed records for steps such as authorization, ordering, payment, and delivery. These records give customers and other software a way to check what was requested and what an Org delivered. (docs.onvanar.com)
Kayon is Vanar’s reasoning and reputation layer. The project describes it as a way to examine records of completed work, check that work against rules, and issue verifiable attestations. Those results feed an Org’s public track record. In simple terms, Vanar wants a buyer choosing an AI service to see evidence of earlier deliveries alongside the service’s description. (docs.onvanar.com)
This design combines ordinary business steps with blockchain records. AI agents may prepare or deliver work, but the payment, approval, and proof of delivery follow defined processes. That gives each Org a history that can travel with it as it serves more customers. (docs.onvanar.com)
Tokenomics & Utility
VANRY’s changing role
VANRY began as the native asset of Vanar’s layer-1 chain. On that network, it paid gas fees, and holders could stake tokens in support of validators. Vanar’s 2026 move to Base ended the chain’s staking program and changed the token’s main purpose. The migration gave eligible holders one new VANRY on Base for each old VANRY they migrated. (docs.vanarchain.com)
The Base version has a 10 billion VANRY total supply, an increase from the former 2.4 billion-token plan. Vanar says the expanded supply is intended to support builders, partners, infrastructure, and incentives for AI Organizations. The team has described much of the new allocation as locked, with releases spread over time and some rewards linked to ecosystem activity. These supply decisions matter because they shape how the project funds its products and programs. (linkedin.com)
Vanar describes two direct uses for VANRY in its Foundry economy. First, an Org can issue its own token paired with VANRY; people backing that Org use VANRY to buy its token through the planned launch process. Second, users can buy Foundry credits with VANRY. Credits pay for AI work across an Org’s agents and business apps, and Vanar advertises a discount when they are bought with VANRY rather than other payment methods. Customer orders, by contrast, settle in USDC. (onvanar.com)
Ecosystem & Use Cases
Vanar’s clearest use case is helping someone turn an idea, an existing service, or an app into an Org. A consultant, for example, could package a service with an order page, payment process, AI support workers, and a record of completed jobs. An established business could add AI agents for marketing or customer service while keeping rules on what those agents may access and spend. These are examples of the types of businesses Foundry is designed to serve. (onvanar.com)
The project also proposes a marketplace where customers can compare Orgs by their offers and delivery records. Kayon scores and verification badges are intended to help show an Org’s operating history. Separately, an Org may issue a token connected to its own community and activity. The rights or benefits attached to that token are set by the Org’s owner, so one Org token may serve a different purpose from another. (docs.onvanar.com)
Gaming and digital collectibles remain part of Vanar’s history and its range of proposed applications. Its present product materials, however, place AI-assisted businesses, service orders, USDC payments, and verifiable work records at the center of the ecosystem. (medium.com)
Advantages & Challenges
Vanar brings several functions into one system: setting up AI workers, defining business rules, taking orders, receiving payments, and recording delivered work. A founder who would otherwise connect several separate tools can use Foundry’s planned workflow. Signed commerce records and visible delivery histories also give customers more information about how an Org has operated. (docs.onvanar.com)
The main challenge is turning that design into regular business use. An Org needs a useful service and real customers; a token and a reputation score cannot create either on their own. Kayon’s score also depends on the work recorded through Vanar’s commerce process, so a newly created Org has little history to display. The move from a standalone chain to Base makes clear descriptions of the current products and VANRY’s uses especially important for people who knew the project in its earlier form. (docs.onvanar.com)
Where to Buy & Wallets
VANRY is available on LBank, BingX, and Paribu, and through the Aerodrome decentralized exchange on Base. Exchange access can depend on a user’s location. The active token is the Base version, with contract address 0x07848a7b542a9cd856122c6c4ab9ec87c44f8b63. Vanar publishes that address on its migration page, and LBank identifies the same contract in its migration notice. (coingecko.com)
Base-compatible wallets can hold the token. The Base app, formerly associated with Coinbase Wallet, supports Base and ERC-20 assets; other EVM-compatible wallets can also be used with the network. A self-custody wallet needs ETH on Base to pay network fees when sending VANRY or using an on-chain application. Older VANRY contracts on Ethereum and Polygon were paused after the migration, so the network and contract address are important parts of identifying the active token. (help.coinbase.com)
Regulatory & Compliance
Vanar’s products involve several activities that can face different legal requirements: token transfers, service payments, business identity checks, and the creation of Org tokens. Within the platform, OCP records authorizations and transactions, while xBPP is designed to apply limits based on factors such as region, budget, and product. Vanar also describes verification levels for Orgs that include checks on founders and treasury addresses. These product features help organize compliance information, while the legal requirements depend on the activity and jurisdiction. (docs.onvanar.com)
In the United States, how a crypto asset is offered and sold can affect whether securities rules apply, and businesses that exchange or transmit virtual currency may face money-transmission requirements. In the European Union, the Markets in Crypto-Assets framework sets rules for covered crypto-asset offerings and service providers. In the United Kingdom, firms marketing qualifying cryptoassets to consumers must follow the financial promotions regime. An Org issuing its own token may therefore have different obligations from someone simply using an Org’s service. (sec.gov)
Shariah assessment considers what a token is used for and how a transaction is structured. VANRY’s roles in buying software credits and participating in the Org ecosystem are distinct from the services and token terms chosen by each Org. An assessment of a particular use would consider whether it involves prohibited elements such as riba (interest), maysir (gambling), or excessive gharar (uncertainty). Its halal status therefore depends on the specific activity being assessed, rather than the token name alone. (onvanar.com)
Future Outlook
Vanar has scheduled October 1, 2026 for Foundry and the start of Genesis, a planned 90-day launch season for Orgs. The published program includes Foundry credits for new Orgs and a 100 million VANRY reward pool for the top 20 Orgs under its campaign rules. This gives builders a defined route into the marketplace and gives the project a way to test whether its tools help Orgs deliver useful work. (onvanar.com)
Beyond that launch, Vanar’s direction rests on the connection between its parts: AI workers that perform tasks, commerce records that document them, Kayon scores that reflect delivery history, and VANRY uses tied to Foundry and Org tokens. The lasting measure of that model will be whether businesses and customers continue to use those parts together. (docs.onvanar.com)
Summary
Vanar has evolved from a gaming and collectibles project into a Base-based platform for AI-assisted businesses. VANRY moved with it: once used for gas and staking on Vanar’s own chain, the token now has roles in Foundry credits and the planned economy of Org tokens. Vanar’s place in the crypto ecosystem will be shaped by how well its business tools turn recorded AI work into services people use. (medium.com)
