Overview
Zebec Network is a platform for sending money over time rather than only in one lump sum. Its best-known use is streaming payroll: an employer sets a payment rate, and a worker’s earnings become available as they accrue. Zebec also offers tools for business payments, digital-asset cards, and managing funds across supported blockchains. Its token, ZBCN, helps connect these products through service fees, governance, staking, and user benefits. (zebec.io)
A simple example shows the idea. A company paying a contractor for a week of work could set up a stream that releases funds throughout that week. The contractor could then withdraw earnings that have already accrued instead of waiting for one payment at the end. Zebec applies this model to stablecoin payroll and other scheduled transfers. The SuperApp brings streaming, cards, payments, and treasury tools into one interface. (zebec.io)

History & Team
From a payroll protocol to a network
Zebec began in 2021 with a focus on continuous payments on Solana. Its original token was called ZBC. In 2024, the project adopted the Zebec Network name and moved to ZBCN as its products grew beyond the first payroll protocol. Holders exchanged one ZBC for ten ZBCN under the migration plan; the change preserved the original token distribution in a new unit size. (zebec.io)
The company expanded through products and acquisitions. PayBridge brought established U.S. payroll operations into the group in 2023, followed by School Payroll Services in 2024. Zebec later added Science Card, a U.K. university-payments platform, and Gatenox, which builds identity and compliance tools. These businesses give Zebec ways to connect blockchain payments with existing payroll, card, and customer-onboarding systems. (zebec.io)
Simon Babakhani is Zebec’s co-founder and CEO. Its wider team includes specialists in engineering, payroll, business development, and financial services. ZBCN holders also participate in a decentralized autonomous organization, or DAO, which votes on proposals affecting the network. (zebec.io)
Technology & How It Works
Payment streams
A payment stream follows instructions set in advance, such as its funding amount, rate, and duration. As time passes, the recipient gains access to the earned portion. Zebec’s mobile SuperApp lets users create streams using supported assets, view the amount that has accrued, and withdraw available funds. Businesses can use similar tools for employees, contractors, or groups of recipients. (zebec.io)
Zebec began on Solana, where ZBCN is a token held in Solana-compatible wallets. The platform has since added products on other networks. Its Stellar payroll deployment, for example, supports stablecoin payments to workers’ digital wallets. Zebec has also integrated a route for eligible recipients to turn Stellar-based digital dollars into local currency through participating MoneyGram locations. The network used for a payment and the token used for Zebec’s product fees are separate parts of that process. (zebec.io)
The SuperApp ties these steps together. A business can fund payment activity, set up streams, and manage payouts, while an individual can connect a supported wallet, receive funds, and use card features. Zebec also uses identity checks and transaction-monitoring tools in parts of its payment infrastructure. (zebec.io)
Tokenomics & Utility
Supply and distribution
ZBCN has a stated maximum supply of 100 billion tokens. The 2024 migration exchanged each original ZBC for ten ZBCN without creating an extra allocation through the swap. Zebec reported that its final scheduled token unlock took place in March 2026, ending the release schedule for early allocations. (zebec.io)
What ZBCN does
ZBCN’s main roles are tied to Zebec’s products and governance:
- Product fees: Zebec says employers using its payroll and disbursement products pay service fees in ZBCN. A stablecoin balance can be converted to ZBCN when a fee is assessed.
- Governance: Holders can vote on proposals after community discussion.
- Platform benefits: Holding or staking ZBCN can provide access to selected fee reductions, features, and rewards.
- Card use: Supported Zebec Cards can be funded with ZBCN for spending through the card program. (zebec.io)
ZBCN is not the base transaction-fee token for Solana. Solana network transactions are paid for in SOL, while ZBCN serves the product roles described above. This distinction matters because Zebec operates across more than one blockchain. (solana.com)
Zebec also runs a program that buys ZBCN using revenue from products such as payroll and cards. Its July 2026 account says the acquired tokens are held in a buyback treasury wallet and with Uphold Institutional. Earlier token burns were paused through a DAO decision, leaving buybacks as a separate treasury activity. (zebec.io)
Ecosystem & Use Cases
Payroll remains Zebec’s central use case. Employers can organize wage and contractor payments, while workers can receive supported digital assets as earnings accrue. For a worker in another country, the path may continue from a wallet to a card purchase or a supported local-currency cash-out service. In the first quarter of 2026, Zebec reported serving 13,100 employees across 243 enterprise clients, a dated measure of its payroll activity. (zebec.io)
Zebec Cards serve a different purpose: they connect supported digital assets with everyday purchases through card-payment systems. The company also offers card tools for partners that want to provide services under their own brands. Science Card adds an education-focused use case, while the SuperApp combines personal transfers, staking, streaming, and card management. Together, these products reach both businesses making payments and individuals using them. (zebec.io)
Advantages & Challenges
Zebec’s main strength is the connection between its products. A payment can begin as payroll, reach a digital wallet, and move into a supported spending or cash-out option. The same streaming method can also serve smaller transfers between individuals. Its work with established payroll businesses gives it experience with tasks such as employer setup and payment records. (zebec.io)
The challenge is making all those parts work together simply. A customer may use a traditional payroll system, a stablecoin, a blockchain wallet, and a card program in one journey. Each has its own setup and rules. Expanding across networks also means that a feature available on one chain may take additional work to offer on another. Zebec’s products depend on clear links between its business services and ZBCN’s role within them. (zebec.io)
Where to Buy & Wallets
ZBCN is available on KuCoin and OKX. Zebec also lists Bybit, Crypto.com, Bitget, and the Solana-based Jupiter exchange among platforms supporting the token. Exchange access and payment methods vary by location. (kucoin.com)
ZBCN can be held in a Solana-compatible wallet such as Phantom. Zebec’s SuperApp works with supported connected wallets and provides access to features such as streaming and staking. For an on-chain transfer, the sending platform and receiving wallet must use the supported network for the token; Solana transactions require SOL to pay the network fee. (phantom.com)
Regulatory & Compliance
Payroll and payment services operate within rules that depend on the country and the service being offered. In the United States, businesses that exchange or transmit convertible virtual currency can fall under FinCEN’s money-transmission rules. Zebec says it operates payroll services in multiple U.S. states and has added Gatenox’s identity, business-verification, and anti-money-laundering tools to its infrastructure. In the European Union, Zebec makes a ZBCN white paper available in connection with the Markets in Crypto-Assets framework, known as MiCA. (fincen.gov)
Zebec has not announced a formal Shariah certification for ZBCN. An Islamic-finance assessment would consider the particular activity: using a payment tool, staking tokens, and entering a lending arrangement are different transactions. Islamic finance principles prohibit interest-based lending and also address excessive uncertainty and gambling. Those principles are especially relevant when examining any lending or yield feature alongside the token’s payment uses. (zebec.io)
Future Outlook
Zebec’s direction is toward a more connected payment system: payroll for employers, usable funds for recipients, and wallet and card tools for daily use. Its move from Solana-only streaming to Stellar payroll shows how it is extending that model across networks. Further progress will depend on how well these services fit together for businesses and individuals, and on whether ZBCN continues to have a clear purpose as the products develop. (zebec.io)
Summary
Zebec Network uses blockchain technology to make scheduled payments available as they accrue. ZBCN supports that ecosystem through product fees, governance, staking benefits, and card use. Its place in crypto is shaped by a practical goal: linking digital payroll and payments to the ways people receive and use money. (zebec.io)
