Scroll (SCR)
Unlock Schedule
Scroll (SCR) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
Supply and distribution
Scroll set SCR’s total supply at 1 billion tokens. Its announced allocation was 15% for airdrops, 35% for ecosystem and community growth, 10% for the Scroll Foundation treasury, 23% for core contributors, and 17% for investors. The ecosystem allocation includes a portion assigned to the Scroll DAO treasury. Team and investor allocations were set to begin unlocking after the token’s first year and finish by the end of its fourth year. (chain.scroll.io)
SCR’s established purpose is governance. Holders can delegate voting power to representatives who take part in Scroll DAO decisions. Proposals have covered matters such as governance rules, upgrades, and community funding. Scroll’s original token plan also discussed possible roles in a more decentralized network of provers and sequencers. Those plans describe how utility could develop; governance is the clearest role in use today. (gov.scroll.io)
Under the September 2026 proposal, SCR would remain the governance token as the network changes direction. The team also discussed putting SCR on Ethereum mainnet and giving holders a role in decisions about USX, a separate asset planned for payments in Scroll’s AI products. The team said the proposed transition would leave SCR’s total supply and overall token allocation unchanged. (forum.scroll.io)
Assumptions
Scroll reports a fixed supply of one billion SCR and published budgets for airdrops, ecosystem growth, its treasuries, contributors, and investors. The chart can date the first airdrop’s claim opening, the future-airdrop earmark unlocks, launch availability for several budgets, and an estimated even release for ecosystem partners. Other four-year unlocks lack published installment amounts, while DAO grants have budgets but no verified payment schedule. The token-creation total and the allocation unlocks are separate views of the same tokens, not amounts to add together.
