Ravencoin (RVN) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The unlock chart above provides a clear visual overview of the Ravencoin (RVN) token release schedule, showing when and how tokens enter circulation across investor, team, treasury, and community allocations. Understanding these tokenomics dynamics is critical for evaluating potential supply pressure, inflation impact, and market liquidity over time — key factors that can influence RVN price performance.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.

Supply, rewards, and fees
Ravencoin’s maximum supply is 21 billion RVN. Mining began with a reward of 5,000 RVN per block. The reward halves every 2.1 million blocks; the first halving took place on January 11, 2022, reducing it to 2,500 RVN. Halvings follow block height rather than a fixed calendar date. This sets a long-term schedule for new coins while miners continue to confirm transactions. (ravencoin.org)
RVN has two practical roles. It pays the network fee when someone sends a transaction, and it is needed to issue an asset. Creating a standard asset costs 500 RVN, which is sent to a burn address. Burned coins leave the spendable supply. This ties demand for new asset creation to the network’s own coin, while ordinary transfers also give RVN a continuing role in day-to-day use. (github.com)
The original distribution is also part of the economic model. With no premine or founder allocation, the launch did not set aside RVN for a private group. Miners received new coins by doing work for the network. Holders can acquire RVN from other participants, and asset issuers use it when they interact with Ravencoin’s token features. (ravencoin.org)
Assumptions
- Ravencoin has no premine, ICO, developer/treasury allocation, or masternode emissions; all RVN enter circulation via PoW block subsidies.
Project docs and repository state fair launch, no premine or set-asides.
- Halving occurs every 2,100,000 blocks; we model each epoch as a linear monthly unlock between halving boundaries.
Official halving page specifies 2,100,000-block interval and 1-minute target block time; dates after the first halving are projected using 1458.333 days per epoch.
- Total supply is capped at 21,000,000,000 RVN; actual minted via discrete satoshi rounding will be slightly below the theoretical cap.
Bitcoin-derived subsidy code rounds down to whole satoshis each halving; we sum 39 non-zero epochs using ideal halves for clarity. The difference is negligible (< ~25 RVN over the full schedule).
