Pocket Network (POKT) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
POKT connects demand for data with the operators who provide it. Applications stake tokens and spend from that stake as they use relays. Suppliers stake to register their services and receive POKT for completed work. Gateways also stake to take part in routing, while validators use the token in the chain’s consensus system. (docs.pocket.network)
Paying for work
Pocket measures data service in compute units, or CUs. A service’s CU setting determines how much work a relay represents. A protocol parameter then converts those units into an amount of POKT for settlement. This creates a common way to account for different services while allowing network rules to be changed through governance. (docs.pocket.network)
Shannon burns POKT from an application when its usage is settled and mints tokens to reward network participants. Under PIP-41, introduced in the February 2026 protocol upgrade, the main relay-settlement rule mints 97.5 POKT for every 100 POKT burned. The difference reduces supply through that settlement process. Other token-logic modules can add rewards, and the economic settings can be changed by governance vote. For that reason, the burn-and-mint rule is best understood as one part of the full economic model. (docs.pocket.network)
POKT also has a history of initial distribution. Pocket’s documentation says 650 million tokens were created at the July 2020 mainnet launch for the founding team, investors, ecosystem funds, and DAO treasury. The original vesting periods have since finished. (docs.pocket.network)
Assumptions
Pocket Network created 650 million POKT at its July 2020 launch and continues to create rewards when network work is settled; it has no established maximum supply. Named testnet incentive budgets use those existing genesis tokens, while several genesis allocations and approved reimbursements lack verified payment dates. The chart can show the genesis mint and an estimated early reward increase between dated supply figures, but it cannot responsibly chart all later gross rewards or reconcile them to today's net supply without historical mint, migration and burn totals.
- Founding team genesis tokens: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Investor genesis tokens: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Genesis ecosystem funds: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- Genesis DAO treasury: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- Incentivized testnet program: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Testnet node-operator incentives: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Testnet application incentives: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Testnet bug-bounty incentives: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Testnet referral incentives: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- PoS network rewards: New issuance depends on network activity, such as staking, so it cannot be dated in advance.
- PEP-44 stake-weighted rewards research reimbursement: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- PEP-51 CARE reimbursement: The sources give the amount but no release dates.

Allocations
Parts of this allocation with their own release dates are charted as their own allocations; the chart shows the rest here.
Not yet scheduled: 22,733,000 tokens of its parts have no release date yet. The chart shows them as TBD from today, not as unlocked.
Estimated from the last observation onward: about 970,238 per day (29,531,629 per month), the rate between the observations of 28 July 2020 and 17 October 2022.
Description
#873
Pocket Network is a decentralized infrastructure for blockchain data relay, supporting a wide array of blockchains with high uptime, cost-effective access, and low latency. It enables node operators to monetize their infrastructure by contributing to a global network that provides robust Web3 connectivity and data services.
