Mantle (MNT) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
As of October 17, 2026, 3.3 billion MNT have been released. No further releases are scheduled; the schedule was fully unlocked on July 7, 2023.
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.

Supply and treasury
Mantle’s initial distribution snapshot, dated July 7, 2023, recorded about 6.22 billion MNT. About 49% was held in the Mantle Treasury, while about 51% was classified as circulating at that snapshot. The treasury portion is allocated through governance decisions rather than a single fixed release schedule. A 2023 supply proposal also approved leaving three billion treasury-held BIT tokens out of the conversion to MNT. (docs.mantle.xyz)
MNT has two central roles. First, it is Mantle Network’s gas token: users pay fees in MNT when they send transactions or use smart contracts. Second, each token provides voting weight in governance. Holders can take part in decisions about development, ecosystem plans, and treasury spending under Mantle’s voting process. (docs.mantle.xyz)
MNT also appears in ecosystem programs, including Mantle Rewards Station and certain activities on partner platforms. These uses can change as products and governance decisions evolve. The treasury’s size makes its allocation process an important part of the token’s economic model: approved funding can support builders, infrastructure, and other work across the ecosystem. Assumptions
Mantle documents an initial MNT supply split between tokens already circulating in July 2023 and a large governance-controlled treasury. Its named reward pool, liquidity allowance and annual operating budgets draw on that treasury rather than creating additional tokens; most payment dates and amounts remain unresolved. The dated chart can show the initial supply estimate and the documented July circulating snapshot, but it cannot turn spending ceilings or cycle-wide spending reports into monthly releases. The current total is about 27 MNT above the documented initial snapshot, and the sources checked do not explain that difference.
- Initially held Mantle Treasury MNT: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- Mantle Journey Season Alpha reward pool: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Mantle Journey Season Alpha protocol rewards: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- First-budget-cycle workforce awards: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- MIP-28 application liquidity-support allowance: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- MIP-31 second-cycle core MNT budget: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- MIP-31 workforce MNT limit: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- MIP-31 marketing MNT limit: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- MIP-31 ecosystem and builder-program MNT limit: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- MIP-31 infrastructure and security MNT limit: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- MIP-33 third-cycle core MNT budget: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
