Initia (INIT) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
Supply and distribution
INIT has a fixed supply of one billion tokens. The published allocation assigns 25% to enshrined liquidity and staking incentives and another 25% to the Vested Interest Program, known as VIP. Protocol developers receive 15%, and protocol sales to investors account for 15.25%. The remaining allocations are 7.75% for the Foundation, 6% for the Binance launch campaign, 5% for an airdrop, and 1% for an Echo.xyz community sale. (docs.initia.xyz)
These categories follow different release schedules. Developer and investor allocations have a 12-month initial lock, followed by releases over 36 months. Staking and VIP allocations are distributed over time through their respective programs. This means the full supply was defined at launch, while access to portions of it unfolds gradually. What INIT does
INIT pays fees on Initia Layer 1, supports staking, and gives holders a role in governance. Users can stake it directly or delegate it to validators. They can also take part in enshrined liquidity, which lets approved INIT-token liquidity positions serve as staking assets. Such a position can help secure the chain while supplying assets for exchange on InitiaDEX. (initiafoundation.com)
VIP connects token rewards to activity across participating rollups. Rollups can receive reward allocations, and users can earn INIT for actions that meet a rollup’s program rules. Stakers can vote on gauges that help determine how part of those rewards is divided among rollups. The aim is to link the incentives of application teams, users, and the base chain. (docs.initia.xyz)
Assumptions
Initia's Foundation whitepaper says all one billion INIT were created at the April 2025 launch; the later schedules describe when portions of that fixed supply become available or are distributed. The chart can show the documented Foundation installments, Echo sale tranches and airdrop opening, alongside clearly labeled estimates for early staking and VIP rewards and the delayed team and investor cliffs. Later block rewards, VIP awards and conversions, some Binance campaigns and the amended insider vesting remainder lack verified release dates or quantities and are not treated as zero. The Foundation's proposed LST liquidity budget is identified as part of its existing allocation, not extra supply.
- Foundation LST liquidity bootstrapping: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Protocol developers and team: The original schedule was changed and the new timing is not yet published.
- Protocol sales and investors: The original schedule was changed and the new timing is not yet published.
- PoS validator, staking and Enshrined Liquidity rewards: New issuance depends on network activity, such as staking, so it cannot be dated in advance.
- Vested Interest Program rewards: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- VIP escrowed INIT becoming transferable: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Binance launch campaign: The sources give the amount but no release dates.

Allocations
Parts of this allocation with their own release dates are charted as their own allocations; the chart shows the rest here.
Not yet scheduled: 681,307,156.699 tokens of its parts have no release date yet. The chart shows them as TBD from today, not as unlocked.
