Tokenomics & Utility
Supply and allocation
IMX has a fixed max supply of 2,000,000,000 tokens. ImmutableX tokenomics allocate the supply roughly as follows:
- 51.72% Ecosystem Development (user rewards, developer grants, liquidity, marketing)
- 25% Project Development
- 13.86% Private Sale
- 5.42% Public Sale
- 4% Foundation Reserve

Fees, staking, and governance
Immutable applies a protocol fee (commonly 2%) on trades executed through its global orderbook. Twenty percent (20%) of that protocol fee is swapped to IMX and sent to the staking rewards pool. Staking cycles typically run every 14 days, and stakers who also participate in network activity (like an NFT trade) can claim rewards. IMX as gas on Immutable zkEVM

Assumptions
- Ecosystem Development follows a reducing-rate schedule of 40%/30%/20%/10% across four 28-day years.
Outlined in whitepaper-derived materials; official blog confirms total allocation and 54-month overall distribution, but year-by-year rates are taken from the tokenomics materials referencing the whitepaper.
- Project Development 125M re-lock modeled as linear monthly from 2024-07-01 to 2025-10-31.
Immutable publicly stated re-lock until at least July 2024 and that release will be linear monthly thereafter; no explicit end date provided, so we align completion to the original overall unlock horizon.
- Public Sale modeled using CoinList Option 1 and Option 2 schedules totaling 5% of supply.
CoinList is the primary venue with explicit tranche amounts and vesting terms; other IEO listings are assumed to be included within the 5% public sale cap.
