Overview

Chaos Labs is a technology company that builds risk tools, data oracles, and AI-powered analytics for onchain finance. Think of the Chaos Labs blockchain stack as the “risk engine room” many protocols use behind the scenes to set parameters, monitor markets, and keep systems running smoothly. The company’s product suite includes Chaos AI (market intelligence), Edge (price, risk, and proof‑of‑reserves data), and Chaos Analytics (monitoring and alerts). These tools help protocols make smarter decisions with live, contextual data. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Today, leading DeFi teams such as Aave, GMX, Jupiter, and others rely on Chaos Labs for economic security and risk management. In public updates, Chaos Labs has cited securing hundreds of billions in cumulative trading volume across the protocols they support, alongside billions in loans and incentives managed through its platform. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Because this page focuses on the CHAOS token, a quick note up front is helpful: as of October 5, 2025, Chaos Labs has not announced a native token. If you come across a “CHAOS price” chart elsewhere, it likely refers to a different project not related to the Chaos Labs blockchain tools described here. This article explains what Chaos Labs is, how its technology works, and what “Chaos Labs tokenomics” could look like if a CHAOS token were ever introduced, based on common models in this category. History & Team

Chaos Labs was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in New York, with additional presence in Tel Aviv. The company is led by Founder and CEO Omer Goldberg, an engineer who previously worked at Facebook and Instagram before starting Chaos Labs to focus on onchain economic security. (linkedin.com)

Chaos Labs’ growth has been backed by leading venture firms. The company raised $20 million in seed funding in February 2023, led by Galaxy and PayPal Ventures, with participation from Coinbase, Uniswap, Lightspeed, Bessemer, and others. In August 2024, it closed a $55 million Series A led by Haun Ventures, joined by F‑Prime Capital, Slow Ventures, Spartan Capital, and existing backers such as Lightspeed, Galaxy, Wintermute, PayPal Ventures, General Catalyst, Bessemer, and Coinbase Ventures. Strategic angels included Kevin Weil (OpenAI CPO), Michael Shaulov (Fireblocks CEO), Anatoly Yakovenko (Solana CEO), Francesco Agosti (Phantom CTO), and Anton Katz (Talos CEO). (prnewswire.com)

Technology & How It Works

Chaos Labs builds infrastructure for protocols to observe, simulate, and act.

• Chaos AI: An AI interface that turns complex market, protocol, and security data into clear insights. It’s designed to make “institutional-grade” analysis accessible in seconds. (chaoslabs.xyz)
• Edge: A data layer that streams fast price feeds, risk signals, and proof‑of‑reserves data. Protocols use Edge to power oracles and decisions that need low-latency accuracy. (chaoslabs.xyz)
• Chaos Analytics: Dashboards and alerting that track key risk metrics, positions at risk, liquidations, and protocol health. It supports real-time monitoring for teams and communities. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Under the hood, the platform combines:

• Simulation engines that stress-test protocol parameters against market shocks and edge cases. These engines help set loan-to-value limits, liquidation penalties, and collateral factors that adapt as conditions change. (prnewswire.com)
• Risk oracles that publish dynamic recommendations on-chain. One example is Chaos Labs’ Principal Token (PT) Risk Oracle for Pendle, which prices time-dependent assets and helps lending markets support PTs safely. (chaoslabs.xyz)
• Observability pipelines that unify off-chain signals and on-chain state. For instance, Chaos Labs has published work on wash-trade detection for the dYdX Chain launch incentives, showing how algorithmic filters can support fair reward programs. (chaoslabs.xyz)
• Public tools used by DAO communities. For Aave, Chaos Labs built an Asset Listing Portal to bring transparency to collateral onboarding with volatility, liquidity, slippage, and initial risk recommendations in one place. (chaoslabs.xyz)

In short, the Chaos Labs blockchain tooling helps projects move from static parameters to data‑driven, dynamic settings that match market reality.

Tokenomics & Utility

Is there a CHAOS token?

As of October 5, 2025, Chaos Labs has not announced a native “CHAOS token.” There is no official token contract on the company website or in its public releases. If a token is ever launched, this page will be updated; for now, references you may see to “CHAOS price” likely relate to unrelated projects using the same ticker. (chaoslabs.xyz)

What “Chaos Labs tokenomics” could look like (educational overview)

If Chaos Labs were to introduce a token in the future, common design patterns in this category suggest a few possible utilities:

• Governance: Voting on protocol roadmap, data coverage priorities, oracle parameters, and funding of research reports or ecosystem grants.
• Data staking and curation: Staking to signal high‑quality data sources, validate oracle updates, or align incentives around proof‑of‑reserves integrity.
• Access tiers: Token‑gated features in Chaos AI or advanced dashboards in Chaos Analytics for analysts, quants, and DAO delegates.
• Incentive alignment: Rewards for integrations that adopt Edge feeds, run risk agents, or contribute model improvements.

These are general patterns seen across data and oracle networks, shared here to clarify what “Chaos Labs tokenomics” might cover if a CHAOS token appears later. There is no official design announced as of the date above. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Ecosystem & Use Cases

Chaos Labs works across DeFi, NFTs, and real‑world assets (RWAs), with growing coverage that supports both builders and communities.

DeFi lending and money markets

Aave, one of DeFi’s largest lending markets, uses Chaos Labs research and tools for parameter recommendations and new asset listings. The Aave Asset Listing Portal centralizes volatility, liquidity, slippage, and other metrics to help the community make informed collateral decisions. Chaos Labs has also developed risk bots, dashboards, and daily alerts that surface positions near liquidation and recap major events. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Beyond Aave, Chaos Labs has worked with major ecosystems including Arbitrum, where it was elected to lead risk within the Research & Development Collective, supporting protocol growth and optimization across the chain. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Perps, DEXs, and chain migrations

For dYdX’s chain migration, Chaos Labs built a wash‑trading detection framework to keep incentive programs clean. For Osmosis, Chaos Labs received a grant to optimize liquidity incentives and later released community dashboards to track the effects of new models. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Liquid staking and restaking

Chaos Labs partners with liquid staking and restaking leaders. Its public pages highlight customer work with Lido and ether.fi, including research that examines LST/LRT risks and their implications in lending markets and staking designs. (chaoslabs.xyz)

NFTs and market structure

In NFTs, Chaos Labs worked with nftperp on risk frameworks for perpetuals tied to blue‑chip collections. The shared goal: adjust parameters in real time and keep markets robust as volatility shifts. This is one example of “Chaos Labs DeFi, NFTs, gaming” coverage—extending beyond coins and into new digital markets. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Real‑world assets and omnichain tokens

Chaos Labs research covers asset designs like USD₮0 and XAU₮0—mechanisms that unify liquidity across chains using LayerZero’s OFT standard. These reviews analyze peg, reserves, and cross‑chain behavior so protocols can integrate RWAs with clearer risk assumptions. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Developer‑facing intelligence

Chaos AI puts research and protocol telemetry into plain language, so DAO delegates, quants, and founders can see risk signals fast. Edge streams price and proof‑of‑reserves data to help oracles and integrations stay up to date. Chaos Analytics pushes alerts and health checks to keep communities aware of important changes. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Advantages & Challenges

Advantages

• Proven adoption: Used by top protocols across multiple chains, from Aave and GMX to Osmosis, dYdX, and more. (chaoslabs.xyz)
• Full stack of risk tools: Simulation, oracles, observability, and AI in one platform. (chaoslabs.xyz)
• Transparent, research‑driven approach: Public reports on mechanisms, parameter frameworks, and RWA designs help communities learn and decide together. (chaoslabs.xyz)
• Measurable impact: The company has reported securing large cumulative volumes and loans across supported protocols. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Challenges

• Coordination with DAOs and exchanges: Risk settings often require community votes or multi‑team alignment, which can slow updates during fast markets.
• Data coverage across chains: New L2s, appchains, and assets require ongoing work to keep oracles and models current.
• No native token today: Without an official CHAOS token, “where to buy CHAOS” or “CHAOS price” queries you see online usually refer to unrelated assets, which can create brand confusion until an official token exists. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Where to Buy & Wallets

If you’re searching “where to buy CHAOS,” note that Chaos Labs has not launched an official token as of October 5, 2025. That means there is no official listing, no contract address from Chaos Labs, and no supported exchange for a CHAOS token tied to this company. If Chaos Labs ever introduces a token, this section will outline supported venues and contract standards. Until then, “CHAOS price” pages you may find refer to different projects and are not connected to the Chaos Labs blockchain tools covered here. (chaoslabs.xyz)

For interacting with protocols that use Chaos Labs data and analytics, you can use common self‑custody wallets for the relevant chains those protocols run on (for example, EVM wallets for Ethereum and its L2s, or ecosystem wallets for Cosmos). Wallet choice depends on the protocol you’re using, not on Chaos Labs itself.

Regulatory & Compliance

Chaos Labs is a software company that provides analytics, oracles, and risk infrastructure. It does not operate a public blockchain network or a native token today, so its regulatory posture is closer to an enterprise SaaS and data provider than a token issuer. How its tools get used can touch regulated areas—for example, DeFi incentive programs, lending markets, and proof‑of‑reserves attestations—where compliance requirements vary by jurisdiction and by the teams that deploy those features.

• United States and European Union: As a private company providing software and data services, Chaos Labs engages with protocols and DAOs that handle their own regulatory processes (for example, disclosures, KYC/AML policies where relevant, or exchange listings). Public funding disclosures from 2023–2024 show well‑known institutional investors and partners, indicating a focus on enterprise‑grade operations and governance as the platform scales. (prnewswire.com)
• “Chaos Labs halal” and “CHAOS shariah compliant”: There is no official halal certification or Shariah review published by Chaos Labs. With no native token and no public claim of Islamic finance screening, there isn’t a basis today to label a CHAOS token “halal” or “CHAOS shariah compliant.” If a token is introduced in the future, a formal Shariah assessment would depend on its design (for example, governance rights, revenue sharing mechanics, and avoidance of interest or gambling elements). (chaoslabs.xyz)
• DAO governance transparency: Many outputs from Chaos Labs are published openly—risk dashboards, parameter proposals, research reports—which helps communities make informed decisions and keep an audit trail for governance records. Examples include Aave’s Asset Listing Portal and research on PT oracles and RWAs. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Future Outlook

The next phase of onchain finance needs data that is fast, explainable, and actionable. That is the niche Chaos Labs has built toward with Edge, Chaos AI, and its risk oracles. Expect to see deeper coverage of:

• Dynamic collateral frameworks: As structured assets like Pendle’s Principal Tokens spread, risk engines that price time and yield correctly will become standard. (chaoslabs.xyz)
• RWAs and cross‑chain settlements: Reviews like USD₮0 and XAU₮0 point to a future where liquidity flows across chains by default, and risk tooling must follow. (chaoslabs.xyz)
• Ecosystem‑wide risk management: Elections like its role with Arbitrum’s R&D Collective show how chain‑level initiatives can apply common standards for incentives, lending parameters, and oracle updates. (chaoslabs.xyz)

If a CHAOS token is ever announced, it would likely align with this mission—governance, data integrity, and access around economic security. Until then, the company continues to publish research, expand integrations, and support builders across DeFi, NFTs, and RWAs. (chaoslabs.xyz)

Summary

Chaos Labs builds the risk layer many protocols use to make better decisions in real time. The product line—Chaos AI, Edge, and Chaos Analytics—brings together simulations, oracles, and observability so teams can monitor markets, set parameters, and keep systems healthy. Top protocols in DeFi use the platform today, and public investors and partners back its roadmap. While there is talk around a “CHAOS token” in the wider market, Chaos Labs has not launched one as of October 5, 2025. For now, the value of Chaos Labs lies in its technology: data‑driven tools that help DeFi, NFTs, gaming‑style markets, and RWAs grow with more confidence and clarity. If a token ever arrives, “Chaos Labs tokenomics” would likely center on governance, data quality, and access—extending the company’s core mission to more users and communities across the onchain economy.
