Cartesi (CTSI)
Unlock Schedule
Cartesi (CTSI) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
Supply, staking, and voting
CTSI was launched with a total allocation of one billion tokens. That allocation included sales, a mine reserve for staking rewards, and a foundation reserve. The foundation’s reserved allocation was 40.22% of the original supply, with its final scheduled unlock in July 2023. Foundation reports describe spending on research, grants, operations, and ecosystem programs. Longer-term changes to the token’s economic model have been discussed through community governance. Token holders can stake CTSI directly or through a staking pool. Cartesi’s Noether staking system distributes rewards from a designated mine reserve to participating operators and stakers. Pool operators take a commission from the rewards their pools receive. Staked CTSI also gives holders voting power in governance, including decisions about grants and proposals. (docs.cartesi.io)
Cartesi is developing a Validator Marketplace to connect application builders with people who can run validation services. Its plan gives CTSI a role in backing validators and supporting applications. That marketplace is a developing part of the token’s utility; Noether staking and rollup validation serve different functions in the ecosystem. (cartesi.io)
Assumptions
Cartesi created one billion CTSI, then made its sale, team, advisor, and Foundation allocations available over the reported launch and vesting periods. Staking rewards come from an already minted 250-million-CTSI Mine Reserve, while named Foundation grants redistribute existing tokens rather than create more. The chart can show the dated unlocks and a clearly labeled 2025–2027 reward forecast; early reward history, some early unlock amounts, grant payment dates, and distributions after that forecast remain unresolved.
- Strategic Sale: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Advisors: Timing not yet established.
- Advisors: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Foundation Reserve: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- PoS Reserve-Mining Rewards: New issuance depends on network activity, such as staking, so it cannot be dated in advance.
- PoS Reserve-Mining Rewards: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- CGP Wave 2: RiscZero–Cartesi Integration Grant: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- CGP Wave 2: Cartesi–Chainlink Library Grant: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
