BitTorrent (BTT) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule

As of October 26, 2026, 990000 billion of the 990000 billion BTT (100.00%) have been released. The schedule is ongoing, with no final release date.

The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.

Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Tokenomics & Utility

Supply and redenomination

BTT began with a supply of 990 billion tokens. Alongside BTTC’s launch in December 2021, it underwent a 1-to-1,000 redenomination: each old BTT became 1,000 new BTT, and the stated total supply became 990 trillion. The older token was renamed BTTOLD. The change increased the number of token units per old token; it did not, by itself, give holders a larger share of the total supply. The newer BTT is a TRC-20 token on TRON and is also used on BTTC. (bttc.zendesk.com)

The 2019 allocation gave 6% to the public sale, 11% to private and seed sales combined, 20.1% to planned airdrops, 19% to the BitTorrent team and foundation, 20% to the TRON Foundation, 19.9% to the ecosystem, and 4% to partnerships. Those figures explain how the original supply was assigned; the redenomination changed the unit count while preserving the proportions. (bittorrent.com)

What BTT pays for

BTT has several uses within the project. It can support bandwidth payments in BitTorrent Speed, pay BTTC gas fees, and be staked or delegated to support the chain. Validators also take part in network governance by voting on proposals. In the BitTorrent File System, or BTFS, storage providers receive token-based compensation, while users can pay for storage with WBTT, a wrapped version of BTT used by that system. (bittorrent.com)

Assumptions

BitTorrent’s original allocation budgets total 990 trillion BTT in today’s denomination, and the chart can show the published sale vesting and the TRX-holder airdrops completed through May 2020. The remaining TRX-airdrop reserve was reassigned to community rewards after that program was cancelled, without a payment timetable. Protocol-user, ecosystem, partnership, BTFS-host and validator rewards have budgets or documented mechanisms but insufficient dated payment data for a complete curve. The December 2021 token replacement is shown separately from unlocks and distributions; the public-sale month and already-unfrozen TRON Foundation amount are estimates, not verified payment dates.
