Original BitTorrent tokenomics
BTT’s initial distribution (before redenomination) was outlined at launch: 6% public sale, 2% private sale, 9% seed sale, 10.1% TRON airdrop, 10% BitTorrent protocol airdrop, 19% team and foundation, 20% TRON Foundation, 19.9% ecosystem, and 4% partnerships. Official redenomination at 1:1000 was implemented with BTTC mainnet launch on 2021-12-12; total supply increased from 990B to 990T while maintaining market cap.
- TRON airdrop schedule modeled exactly per foundation’s monthly amounts; residual added to match 10.1% allocation.
Official posts list fixed monthly airdrops from 2019-03-11 to 2025-02-11 and an initial airdrop on 2019-02-11. Binance Research states TRON airdrops total 10.1% over ~6 years; the difference (~0.3% of supply) is modeled as a final event-based unlock on 2025-02-11.
