Yes, the Aztec Network has launched a native crypto token called $AZTEC. The token sale occurred in late 2025, raising over 60 million USD in Ethereum through a community-first, fair-access auction. The $AZTEC token is used for staking, governance, and transaction fees on the network. Tokens are currently locked and will become transferable following a token generation event (TGE) triggered by an on-chain governance vote, which can happen as early as February 11, 2026. Token holders can stake tokens and participate in governance before the TGE.
