Overview
AIOZ Network is a blockchain-based system for storing files, delivering media, and providing computing power for artificial intelligence (AI). It brings together people who need these services and people willing to share storage space, internet bandwidth, or processing power. The network’s cryptocurrency, AIOZ, helps pay for services and reward participants. This model is often called a decentralized physical infrastructure network, or DePIN, because it coordinates real hardware owned by many contributors. (aioz.network)
The project has four main services: AIOZ Storage for files, AIOZ Pin for keeping IPFS content available, AIOZ Stream for video, and AIOZ AI for models and computing tasks. Its blockchain records transactions and supports applications built by developers. Together, these parts aim to give developers an alternative way to build services that depend on cloud storage, content delivery, or AI tools. (aioz.network)

History & Team
From video delivery to a broader network
Founder Erman Tjiputra says he began working with AIOZ’s core team in 2013, before the team was formally created in 2017. The project first focused on decentralized video delivery. Its token launched through public offerings in April 2021, and the AIOZ mainnet followed in December 2021. Since then, the project has expanded from media delivery into storage, IPFS pinning, and AI services. (aioz.network)
Tjiputra has been identified by the project as its founder and chief executive. AIOZ has also named outside backers and partners. In 2023, it announced a strategic partnership with DWF Labs and said that DWF Labs had invested an undisclosed amount. This funding history is separate from the work of node operators, who contribute hardware resources to run the network’s services. (aioz.network)
Technology & How It Works
One blockchain, many services
AIOZ runs its own layer-1 blockchain, built with the Cosmos SDK. It uses proof of stake: validators help check transactions and add blocks, while token holders can delegate AIOZ to validators. The chain also supports Ethereum-compatible smart contracts and links to the wider Cosmos ecosystem. These features give developers more than one familiar route for building applications and moving assets. (docs.aioz.network)
The service network works alongside the blockchain. A person running a compatible device can contribute disk space, bandwidth, or computing capacity through AIOZ’s DePIN software. Tasks may include storing a file, delivering media to a viewer, changing a video into another format, or processing an AI request. The blockchain provides a way to coordinate payments and rewards, while the hardware performs the resource-heavy work. AIOZ’s 2026 command-line software brought AI compute into the same operator workflow as storage, delivery, and video processing. (aioz.network)
Location matters for content delivery. A nearby node can serve a file or video without sending every request back to one distant data center. For stored content, spreading copies across contributors can help keep files available. AIOZ’s design brings these tasks under a shared system for assigning work and accounting for the resources used. (aioz.network)
Tokenomics & Utility
What AIOZ does
AIOZ is the network’s native token. It pays blockchain transaction fees and is used within the project’s services, including access to AI models and datasets. Contributors can receive AIOZ for providing resources. Holders of native AIOZ can stake it with validators, share in staking rewards, and take part in on-chain governance. Governance votes can address matters such as network settings and software upgrades. (docs.aioz.network)
At launch, the project set an initial allocation of one billion tokens. Of that allocation, 53% was assigned to ecosystem growth, 25% to the team, 7.3% to private sales, and 1.7% to public sales. The rest was assigned to advisers, marketing, and exchange liquidity. These figures describe the original distribution, rather than a fixed limit on all tokens that can ever exist. The mainnet later began issuing new AIOZ as part of its staking rewards. (aioz.network)
The project’s published tokenomics schedule calls for annual issuance to fall in steps: from 9% initially to 6% beginning December 25, 2025, with a planned reduction to 5% on December 25, 2026. Under that plan, half of newly issued tokens go to validators and delegators and half to the treasury. The plan also describes token burns tied to blockchain activity, DePIN rewards, and service revenue. Issuance rewards participation; burns remove tokens from circulation according to the stated rules. (docs.aioz.network)
Ecosystem & Use Cases
Storage, video, and AI
AIOZ Storage offers object storage compatible with Amazon S3, a common way for applications to save and retrieve files. This lets developers use familiar storage tools for media libraries, app data, or AI datasets. AIOZ Pin serves a different purpose: it helps keep files on the InterPlanetary File System, or IPFS, available through pinning, gateways, and caching. For example, an application could use it to make images linked to digital collectibles easier to retrieve. (aioz.network)
AIOZ Stream provides infrastructure for live and on-demand video. It uses the contributor network for storage, video processing, and delivery. Developers can connect their own products through software tools and APIs. AIOZ AI, meanwhile, gives users ways to find models and datasets, test ideas in interactive tools, and build AI applications. Its second major version added APIs and software kits for connecting applications to models running across the DePIN. (aioz.network)
These services can also work together. A team building a video application might store media with AIOZ Storage, deliver it through AIOZ Stream, and use AI tools in its production workflow. A developer building an AI application might store a dataset, test a model, and then connect that model to an app. The value of the combined system lies in giving builders several related tools within one ecosystem. (aioz.network)
Advantages & Challenges
AIOZ’s broad range of services is a clear design strength. Storage, media delivery, and AI computing all need real hardware, and its contributor model gives people a way to provide those resources. Compatibility with S3 and Ethereum-style smart contracts also makes parts of the network more familiar to developers who already use those tools. (aioz.network)
Running a distributed service also takes careful coordination. Devices differ in speed, available space, and location. The network must assign work, check that it is completed, and deliver steady performance to applications. AIOZ also has to make its separate products simple enough for developers to use together. Its ongoing operator-tool updates and work on shared service design reflect those practical demands. (aioz.network)
Where to Buy & Wallets
AIOZ Network can be purchased on Coinbase and Kraken. The project has also announced an Upbit listing. Exchange access and supported withdrawal networks can vary by location and platform. AIOZ has appeared in native form on its own blockchain and in token forms on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, so the selected network matters when moving it to a wallet. (coinbase.com)
The official AIOZ Web Wallet supports native AIOZ as well as its Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain forms. MetaMask can also manage AIOZ on supported networks. AIOZ’s bridge converts supported Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain token forms to native AIOZ. Native tokens are needed for the network’s staking process. (docs.aioz.network)
Regulatory & Compliance
Digital-asset rules apply differently across jurisdictions. In the United States, federal securities treatment depends on an asset’s features and how it is offered or sold; the SEC’s general guidance does not give AIOZ an individual classification. For U.S. tax purposes, the IRS treats digital assets as property and addresses income from activities such as staking. In the European Union, the Markets in Crypto-Assets framework sets rules for crypto-asset services, including authorization requirements for providers. (sec.gov)
Islamic-finance assessment also looks at what a token is used for and how transactions involving it are structured. A qualitative Shariah screen has classified AIOZ as halal based on its network services and token functions. Its storage, streaming, and computing activities are the practical uses behind that assessment. Shariah screening guidelines also consider whether a service involves prohibited activities and how a token is traded. (halalscreener.app)
Future Outlook
AIOZ’s development direction is to make its four services work more closely together. Its 2026 vision describes shared ways to assign tasks and account for completed work across storage, pinning, streaming, and AI. The project has continued adding models, datasets, and developer features to its AI platform, while updates to operator software have widened the types of work contributors can perform. How useful this approach becomes will depend largely on whether developers can put the services to work in lasting applications. (aioz.network)
Summary
AIOZ Network connects a proof-of-stake blockchain to a community-powered hardware network. Its token supports payments, contributor rewards, staking, and governance, while its products address file storage, IPFS access, video delivery, and AI development. It represents an effort to provide several everyday digital-infrastructure services through one decentralized ecosystem. (aioz.network)
