Whales Market (WHALES) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
WHALES is a Solana token with a documented total supply of 100 million. The project lists its mint address as GTH3wG3NErjwcf7VGCoXEXkgXSHvYhx5gtATeeM5JAS1. The address identifies the token on Solana, where names and tickers alone are not unique. (docs.whales.market)
Distribution and staking
The published allocation assigns 65% of the supply to incentives, 9.5% to the team, 7.5% to liquidity, 7% to a private sale, 5% to an airdrop, 5% to marketing, and 1% to security. The incentive allocation was set out for release over four years. The team allocation had an initial lock followed by a longer vesting period, meaning those tokens were scheduled to become available gradually rather than all at once. (docs.whales.market)
Staking gives WHALES a direct role in the platform. When holders stake the token, they receive xWHALES, a related token used for trading-fee discounts and as collateral in OTC trades. The project also describes rewards funded by protocol revenue and paid in WHALES purchased from the market. Those staking rewards are separate from the planned release of tokens in the incentive allocation. Holders can convert xWHALES back into WHALES through the staking mechanism. (docs.whales.market)
This design connects token use to activity on the trading platform. A person who trades frequently may value fee discounts, while a person making OTC offers may use xWHALES as collateral. The token’s economic model also reserves a large share of supply for participation incentives. (docs.whales.market)
Assumptions
Whales Market documents a 100 million-token supply divided among incentives, team, liquidity, private sale, airdrop, marketing and security. Its published terms specify launch portions and vesting periods, with the largest—65 million incentive tokens—described as releasing linearly over four years under DAO governance. The chart can show those dated availability schedules, but their calendar months are estimates anchored to the January 2024 launch announcement. The timing of CEX-reserve deployment, actual incentive awards, and some recipient transfers remains unknown; the amount of WHALES burned has not been verified.
- Initial token supply: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Incentives — 65% of supply: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- CEX listing reserve — 2.5% of supply: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Airdrop — 5% of supply: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Marketing — 5% of supply: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
