Venice (VVV) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
Distribution and supply changes
Venice created 100 million VVV at launch. The original allocation was 50% for Venice users and AI communities, 35% for Venice.ai, 10% for an ecosystem incentive fund, and 5% for liquidity provision. Within Venice.ai’s allocation, 10 million tokens were designated for the team, with part available at launch and the remainder released over 24 months. The launch had no presale. (venice.ai)
That starting figure is best understood as a launch figure rather than a permanent supply limit. After the airdrop claim period ended, Venice burned unclaimed tokens and other tokens in two transactions totaling 33,539,739 VVV on March 12, 2025. New VVV is also created as staking rewards. Venice has reduced its yearly issuance rate in stages; its August 2026 update set out a reduction to 2.5 million VVV per year on September 1, followed by a planned reduction to 2 million on October 1. (venice.ai)
What holding and staking do
Staked VVV earns a share of newly issued tokens. Locking sVVV to mint DIEM gives it a second role: supporting an asset that someone can stake for daily AI credit or transfer to another user. While the sVVV remains locked, Venice’s published design pays it a reduced share of the standard staking reward. Separately, staking at least 100 VVV unlocks Venice Pro features under the platform’s stated program. (venice.ai)
Venice also buys and burns VVV using portions of platform revenue. Its program includes burns tied to new paid subscriptions and to purchases of API credit. Burns remove tokens, while staking emissions add them. Both mechanisms shape the token’s supply over time. (venice.ai)
Assumptions
Venice minted 100 million VVV at launch on 27 January 2025: 50 million for an airdrop, 35 million for the company (including a 10 million team grant), 10 million for an incentive fund and 5 million for liquidity. About 33.5 million unclaimed airdrop and launch-day-sold tokens were burned in March 2025, and revenue-funded buy-and-burns continue. The team also mints new VVV for stakers each year, cut in steps from 14 million a year at launch to 2.5 million now and 2 million from 1 October 2026, and Series A investors hold a 1.5 million VVV grant that should vest from mid-2027 to mid-2030 plus a 5 million VVV purchase right with no set dates. The chart shows the launch mint, the airdrop opening, the team's upfront tokens and 24-month stream, the Series A vesting and the yearly emissions; emissions and both vesting streams are estimates from announced rates and terms, while the 25 million company remainder, incentive fund, liquidity deployment and warrants have no dates and later emissions have no end.
- Venice.ai company grant remainder (non-team 25M): The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Venice Incentive Fund grants (builder grant pool): Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Liquidity deployment: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Series A investor VVV warrants (right to buy 5M VVV): Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Staking Emissions (owner-minted annual issuance): Emission continues with no published future rate or end date.
