OriginTrail (TRAC)
Unlock Schedule
OriginTrail (TRAC) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
TRAC’s role in the network
TRAC launched in 2018 as an Ethereum ERC-20 token. It has a fixed supply of 500 million tokens. OriginTrail describes TRAC as the utility token for DKG operations: publishers use it to compensate node operators for making Knowledge Assets available, while node operators receive it for providing that service. Publishing costs depend in part on the amount of data and how long it is made available. (origintrail.io)
Node operators can lock TRAC as collateral. This increases their stake in the network and can improve their chance of receiving work and its related fees. Token holders can also delegate TRAC to nodes that accept outside stake, sharing in a portion of the fees those nodes earn. These are service-based roles within the DKG’s incentive system. (origintrail.io)
OriginTrail supports TRAC on several networks, including Ethereum, Base, Gnosis, Polygon, and NeuroWeb. The ecosystem has also described a separate token for its NeuroWeb blockchain. TRAC’s central role is tied to publishing and supporting knowledge on the DKG. (origintrail.io)
Assumptions
TRAC has a fixed supply of 500 million tokens, all minted once at the January 2018 token sale, with no ongoing inflation. Half (250 million) went to sale buyers and became transferable on 24 January 2018; the rest was split among founders and pre-ICO backers (90 million), a future-development reserve (100 million), team and advisors (25 million), a liquidity pool (25 million) and bounties (10 million). Founders and team tokens were meant to vest quarterly over about two years, but the split inside each pool and the dates for the reserve, liquidity and bounty pools are not published, so only the mint and the public-sale unlock are charted with dates. Current supply is 500 million with no recorded burns.
- Founders and pre-ICO contributors (18%): The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Team and advisors (5%): The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Future development reserve (20%): Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- Liquidity pool (5%): The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Bounties (2%): Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.

Allocations
Parts of this allocation with their own release dates are charted as their own allocations; the chart shows the rest here.
Not yet scheduled: 52,725,882 tokens of its parts have no release date yet. The chart shows them as TBD from today, not as unlocked.
