Maple Finance (SYRUP)
Unlock Schedule
Maple Finance (SYRUP) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
As of October 16, 2026, 1.15 billion SYRUP have been released. The schedule is ongoing, with no final release date.
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
Governance, migration, and buybacks
SYRUP replaced Maple’s earlier MPL token through a conversion set at 100 SYRUP for one MPL. Maple’s token plan carried forward an existing issuance schedule rather than treating the conversion itself as a new percentage claim for MPL holders. The conversion windows have closed, and SYRUP and stSYRUP are the tokens used for governance. SYRUP therefore matters to decisions about the protocol, even though lenders do not need to hold it to deposit into Maple’s pools. (docs.maple.finance)
Holders use SYRUP to vote on governance proposals, including changes to token incentives and treasury policy. Maple initially offered rewards for staking SYRUP and issued stSYRUP to represent staked tokens. Those staking rewards were ended under a later governance decision, while governance participation was opened to both SYRUP and stSYRUP holders. The distinction matters when reading older descriptions of the token’s utility. (community.maple.finance)
Another part of the token’s economic model is the Syrup Strategic Fund, or SSF. It supports activities such as integrations, token-market operations, reserves, and SYRUP buybacks. Under a rules-based framework adopted in 2026, the portion of monthly net revenue directed to buybacks rises through 10%, 20%, and 30% bands as revenue reaches specified levels. Purchased tokens are held within the fund. This links a treasury activity to Maple’s lending business without making each SYRUP token a pool deposit. (maple.finance)
Assumptions
Maple minted a one-billion-SYRUP conversion reserve, a 100-million-token treasury recapitalization and 54.93 million tokens attributed to its inflation program at launch. Its projected inflation total extends into 2026, but the remaining mint dates and amounts are not established by the cited schedule. Staking rewards, Drips, employee grants and strategic-fund uses also release tokens, with substantial amounts or dates unresolved. The quantified chart shows the documented launch mints and an estimated linear timing for the initial staking rewards; undated releases remain listed separately.

- Original strategic investors, SYRUP-equivalent entitlement: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Original ecosystem and community reserve, SYRUP-equivalent: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Original foundation and treasury reserve, SYRUP-equivalent: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- Original team allocation, SYRUP-equivalent entitlement: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Governance-approved treasury inflation: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Subsequent treasury-funded and repurchased-token staking rewards: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Drips depositor incentives: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Syrup Strategic Fund reserve from unconverted MPL: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
