Unlock Schedule
Luna by Virtuals (LUNA) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
As of October 25, 2026, 1 billion of the 1 billion LUNA (100.00%) have been released. No further releases are scheduled; the schedule was fully unlocked on October 16, 2024.
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.

Supply and the role of LUNA
LUNA has a stated maximum supply of one billion tokens. That figure describes the size of this agent token’s supply. VIRTUAL, the token used across the broader Virtuals Protocol, has its own supply and purpose. Keeping those roles separate helps explain the project: LUNA is associated with Luna the agent, while VIRTUAL supports activity across many agents on the platform. (coingecko.com)
Virtuals describes agent tokens as a way to organize participation around an agent’s development. In its model, token holders can take part in decisions about an agent’s direction, behavior, or upgrades. For Luna, the most clearly documented token use is participation in her on-chain community, including the team’s description of LUNA rewards to fans. The token can also be transferred and exchanged like other compatible digital assets. (whitepaper.virtuals.io)
VIRTUAL serves as a common asset in the platform’s design. Virtuals explains that agent tokens are paired with VIRTUAL in liquidity pools and that some agent-service payments use VIRTUAL. This creates a link between individual agent communities and the shared protocol. It also means that paying for an agent’s service within the Virtuals system and holding that agent’s token are separate activities. (whitepaper.virtuals.io)
Assumptions
Virtuals documents a fixed one-billion-LUNA supply minted when the agent token was created, and BaseScan dates Luna’s migration transaction to October 16, 2024. The chart therefore shows the documented token creation as one event, not as monthly vesting. No separate Luna-specific allocation schedule was established from the reviewed sources. An older explorer snapshot shows a lower on-chain supply, but current supply and cumulative burns could not be verified for September 30, 2026.
