Jackal Protocol (JKL) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.

What JKL does
JKL connects people who use storage with the participants who maintain Jackal. Users pay for storage plans and network transaction fees with the token. Validators and delegators stake JKL to help secure the blockchain and receive protocol rewards. Staked tokens also give holders voting power over governance proposals, including changes to software and the use of community funds. Storage providers can use JKL as collateral when joining the network. (docs.jackalprotocol.com)
New-token issuance is managed by Jackal’s mint module. Its documented settings include how many tokens are issued per block, how issuance slows over time, and how newly issued tokens are divided among stakers, storage-provider support, and developer grants. This means the token’s economic model supports both sides of the service: the people who keep the chain running and those who supply storage space. Governance gives the community a way to consider changes to that model. (docs.jackalprotocol.com)
A storage purchase illustrates JKL’s practical role. An application can use Jackal’s developer tools to buy a plan for a chosen amount of space and time, then upload and retrieve files through the storage network. The token is therefore used in an ongoing service, as well as in staking and voting. (docs.jackalprotocol.com)
Assumptions
Jackal has a reported 100 million JKL launch supply and a proof-of-stake mint module that issues tokens for stakers and other recipients. Its launch airdrop is confirmed, but the amounts or payment dates of other airdrops and developer grants remain unresolved. The chart shows the provisional launch mint and estimated net supply growth between dated totals, not verified monthly gross minting. An October 1 on-chain supply total, cumulative burns and a complete future issuance schedule could not be verified.
- PoS block issuance, including validator rewards and other mint-module recipients: New issuance depends on network activity, such as staking, so it cannot be dated in advance.
- PoS block issuance, including validator rewards and other mint-module recipients: Emission continues with no published future rate or end date.
- Launch airdrop to qualifying ATOM and JUNO stakers: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Secret Network staker and alpha-tester airdrop: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Developer and builder grants funded from minted JKL: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
