Hegic (HEGIC) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
Supply and distribution
HEGIC began as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. Its 2020 launch plan set an initial supply of 3,012,009,888 tokens. The planned allocations were 40% for rewards to pool participants and option users, 25% for a bonding-curve distribution, 20% for early contributors, 10% for the development fund, and 5% for an exchange pool. A bonding curve is a contract that changes its quoted exchange rate according to its programmed rules. These allocations describe the original design, rather than a continuing schedule of rewards. Hegic later removed a large part of that initial supply. In its February 2022 HardCore announcement, the project reported burning roughly two-thirds of the originally created tokens. A burn sends tokens to an address from which they cannot normally be recovered. This is an important part of HEGIC’s history: the launch allocation alone does not describe the token’s later supply. Staking and the Stake & Cover model
The token’s central practical use is participation in Stake & Cover. Under the model Hegic described for its Arbitrum-era protocol, participants stake HEGIC and share the net results of options activity. Net results mean premiums received minus payouts to option buyers, calculated under the pool’s rules. Positive results can be distributed in a stablecoin; negative results can be covered by selling a portion of staked HEGIC. Staking therefore links token holders to the performance of the options pool. (medium.com)
Earlier Hegic versions used staking lots of 888,000 HEGIC to distribute settlement fees. The project’s later Stake & Cover design changed that relationship between staking and options outcomes. Hegic’s original token materials also listed governance as an intended use, while the clearly documented role in the later pool model is staking and coverage. (medium.com)
Assumptions
Hegic created a fixed supply at its September 2020 launch and assigned it to contributors, a development fund, a bonding-curve offering, user rewards and market liquidity. Contributor and fund tokens followed per-block vesting, while offering tokens became claimable after the initial sale; the timing and amounts of later sales, liquidity placement and amended reward payments are not fully established. Hegic subsequently sent about 1.93 billion tokens to a dead address. The chart can show the initial creation and supported vesting and claim-opening dates, but it should not portray the original reward budgets as payments that necessarily occurred.
- Initial offering and bonding-curve reserve: New issuance depends on network activity, such as staking, so it cannot be dated in advance.
- Liquidity mining and options-utilization rewards: The original schedule was changed and the new timing is not yet published.
- Reserved Phase II rHEGIC2-to-HEGIC conversions: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- Balancer or other AMM liquidity: The sources give the amount but no release dates.

Allocations
Parts of this allocation with their own release dates are charted as their own allocations; the chart shows the rest here.
Not yet scheduled: 1,934,325,163 tokens of its parts have no release date yet. The chart shows them as TBD from today, not as unlocked.
