Supply, rewards, and spending

The published maximum supply is one billion GOG. The allocation sets aside 35% for player rewards, 28% for community rewards, 20% for developers, 6% for Guardians Guild Limited, 6% for a public sale, and 5% for a private sale. Player rewards are intended for qualifying activities such as competitions, while the community allocation supports a wider range of contributions. GOG’s role is tied mainly to participation in the game ecosystem. Project documentation describes its use in minting certain gaming NFTs and in the Altar of Sacrifice, a web-based system for selected asset-creation activities. Competitive modes and community programs can also distribute tokens. These uses connect the token to what players do, rather than making every routine upgrade a blockchain transaction. The later addition of gGoG made that connection more direct inside the app. Through Eri’s Store, players can convert GOG into gGoG at a stated rate of one GOG to ten gGoG, subject to conversion fees. The process also works in reverse. Players can use gGoG for eligible in-game purchases, and Guardian rental and listing fees are set in it.
