Crust Network (CRU) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.

What CRU does
CRU is the native token of the Crust mainnet. Its main uses are to pay network transaction fees and purchase storage services. Node operators use it for staking and deposits tied to their service. Holders can also take part in on-chain governance, including voting on proposals. These roles give the token a part in both the daily operation and the rules of the network. (wiki.crust.network)
Crust’s economic white paper set out 20 million CRU at genesis. Its original allocation assigned 25% to community development, 10% to ecosystem construction, 25% to investment institutions, 20% to the technical team, and 20% to a foundation reserve. The model also creates CRU through block production to reward network maintenance. Its published schedule began with 5 million CRU in the first year, followed by a planned 12% reduction in annual rewards from one year to the next until the model’s stated inflation threshold. Thus, the genesis amount describes the starting allocation, rather than all CRU that can be issued. (crust.network)
Storage providers can earn income for completed orders as well as rewards connected to staking and block production. A provider’s proven storage work can raise the amount of stake counted under GPoS. Users can also lock CRU for benefits in the storage market. Together, these rules aim to encourage nodes to offer useful capacity and keep ordered files available. (wiki.crust.network)
Assumptions
Crust began with a documented 20-million-CRU allocation, while its GPoS network creates additional block and staking rewards. Investor, team and foundation tokens have published unlocking terms; community spending and several named incentive programs have amounts but incomplete payment dates. The creation-side chart uses the supplied dated total-supply observations to estimate net growth between measurements, not to claim measured monthly rewards. Burns, exact current supply and future reward amounts remain unresolved, and transfers of existing tokens must not be added to newly created supply.
- GPoS block and staking rewards: Emission continues with no published future rate or end date.
- Sale reserve for liquidity, partners and community activities: The sources give the amount but no release dates.
- Remaining token-sale working capital: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- Business development and marketing: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- Community development: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- Parachain auction and maintenance reserve: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- Profit Ark incentivized testnet rewards: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- 2021 Kusama crowdloan CRU rewards: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
- 2024 Polkadot auction #71 contributor rewards: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.

Allocations
Parts of this allocation with their own release dates are charted as their own allocations; the chart shows the rest here.
Not yet scheduled: 8,308,980 tokens of its parts have no release date yet. The chart shows them as TBD from today, not as unlocked.
Description
#4550
Crust network is a decentralized storage network that uses blockchain technology to secure and distribute data. It is built on Polkadot’s Substrate framework and supports IPFS and other storage protocols. It enables web 3.0 and web 2.0 applications to host websites, dApps, NFTs and personal files.
