AltLayer (ALT)
Unlock Schedule
AltLayer (ALT) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
As of October 16, 2026, 7.09 billion of the 10 billion ALT (70.95%) have been released. The remaining 2.91 billion ALT, all estimated, are worth about $23.21 million at today's price (39.23% of the market cap). Of these, 2.24 billion ALT release over the next 12 months, mostly from Treasury — 21.5% of maximum supply and Protocol development — 20% of maximum supply. The next release is on October 25, 2026: an estimated 227.84 million ALT from Ecosystem and community — 15% of maximum supply, Investors — 18.5% of maximum supply, Protocol development — 20% of maximum supply, Strategic advisors — 5% of maximum supply, Team — 15% of maximum supply and Treasury — 21.5% of maximum supply. ALT is fully unlocked on January 25, 2028; after that date the schedule has no further dated releases.
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
Supply and distribution
ALT has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens. Its announced allocation divides that supply among the treasury at 21.5%, protocol development at 20%, investors at 18.5%, the team at 15%, ecosystem and community programs at 15%, advisors at 5%, and Binance Launchpool at 5%. These are allocation shares of the total supply, rather than a measure of how many tokens are available at any particular moment. (binance.com)
The distribution schedule includes gradual releases for several groups. AltLayer announced a six-month pause after a July 25, 2024 unlock. Monthly vesting resumed on January 25, 2025, with different schedules for investors and partners and for the team, treasury, and other groups. The schedule is part of how the project planned to distribute tokens over time. (t.me)
What ALT does
ALT’s stated roles are an economic bond, a governance token, a way to reward operators, and a payment token for services within the protocol. An economic bond gives an operator something at stake while performing a network task. Governance gives holders a role in protocol decisions. In AltLayer’s staking system, users can stake ERC-20 ALT on Ethereum and convert their staked position into reALT, a token used in its restaking process. (binance.com)
ALT’s protocol role is distinct from the everyday transaction fee on every rollup AltLayer helps launch. Rollups can have their own settings and fee arrangements. Keeping that distinction in mind makes it easier to understand ALT as a token for AltLayer’s shared infrastructure, rather than as a single fee token for all applications built with its tools. Values at $0.008 per ALT (October 16, 2026), today's price, not a forecast. Releases continue after September 2027. Estimated amounts are modeled from the schedule's rules rather than dated by a source; see the Assumptions below. Releases without dates are listed under Allocations.
Assumptions
AltLayer created a capped 10 billion ALT supply and assigned it to Launchpool, investors, the team, advisors, protocol development, the community and treasury. Stakeholder vesting paused after the July 2024 unlock and resumed monthly in January 2025; the first airdrop had separate claim openings for most recipients and Celestia stakers. The chart can show the initial creation and estimated allocation unlocks separately, but should not add them together or count the airdrop twice. Exact historical category payments, returned airdrop tokens, treasury spending and aggregate ALT staking-reward payouts remain unresolved.
- Treasury — 21.5% of maximum supply: Releases depend on future governance or treasury decisions.
- ALT restaking rewards paid from existing tokens: Releases depend on recipients claiming tokens or on grants being awarded.
