OKB (OKB) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule

As of October 16, 2026, 300 million of the 21 million OKB (1428.57%) have been released. No further releases are scheduled; the schedule was fully unlocked in March 2018.

The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.

Tokenomics & Utility

A fixed supply model

OKB’s supply model changed sharply in 2025. OKX announced a one-time burn of 65,256,712.097 OKB drawn from earlier repurchases and treasury reserves. After the change, the stated total supply was fixed at 21 million OKB. The accompanying contract upgrade removed minting and manual burning functions. Earlier descriptions of OKB’s issuance and recurring burns therefore describe a different stage of the token’s history. (okx.com)

The fixed supply is one part of the economic model; use of the token is another. OKB pays X Layer gas fees, can move between supported wallets and services, and has a role in plans for market-building tools on the network. It does not represent a share of OKX or a claim on exchange revenue. Its practical value to a user comes from the services that accept it and the network activities that require it. (okx.com)

OKB has also been used in time-limited OKX programs. For example, past Jumpstart events let participants commit OKB to receive rewards from new projects. Those programs had their own dates and eligibility rules. They are distinct from OKB’s ongoing role as the token used to pay for X Layer transactions. (okx.com)

Assumptions

OKX says it distributed the original 300 million OKB in March 2018 through its Red Packet and Loyalty Points Subscription programs; it does not disclose how much each program received. No later token release is documented, and the current reported supply is 21 million after burns. The chart places the original creation in March 2018 as an estimate based on the documented distribution month; it does not subtract burns or treat transfers between chains as new supply.
