Overview

What is Fasttoken (FTN)?

Fasttoken (FTN) is the native currency of the Bahamut network, an EVM-compatible, layer‑1 blockchain that blends Proof of Stake with a novel “activity” component to reward builders and validators who drive real usage. In everyday terms, the FTN token powers the Fasttoken blockchain (Bahamut) for gas, staking, and on‑chain applications across payments, DeFi, NFTs, and gaming. The ecosystem is developed under the Fastex umbrella, with integrations across multiple payment providers and web3 products. (bahamut.io)

Why people care

• Utility-first design: FTN secures the network, pays gas fees, and fuels decentralized apps.
• Builder incentives: Bahamut’s PoSA (Proof of Stake and Activity) encourages developers to ship useful smart contracts that people actually use. (coindesk.com)
• Growing reach: FTN is integrated with 10+ payment platforms and listed on many global exchanges, making access straightforward for most users. (fasttoken.com)

As network usage rises, demand for gas and staking typically follows. While FTN price moves with markets, the long‑term story centers on adoption across Fasttoken DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and real‑world payments.

History & Team

Origins and ecosystem backing

Fasttoken emerged from the Fastex and SoftConstruct group, known for building technology for payments, gaming, and web3. The Bahamut mainnet launched in May 2023, introducing PoSA as its signature consensus design. The project reports security audits completed by CertiK and Hexens for its ERC‑20 contracts and distribution logic. (coindesk.com)

Founders and leaders

Vigen Badalyan, a co‑founder of SoftConstruct and Fastex, has been a public face of the initiative and broader ecosystem. Fastex leadership also features executives like CLO and board member Vardan Khachatryan, who frequently speaks on regulation and custody, and program leads supporting the Bahamut Foundation’s growth and grants. (gamblinginsider.com)

Funding milestones and partners

Fasttoken raised approximately $23.2M across sale stages to bootstrap the network and products. The team highlights adoption across hundreds of sites, with integrations spanning gateways such as Simplex and CoinPayments and listings on 16+ centralized exchanges. (itbusinessnet.com)

Technology & How It Works

PoSA: Proof of Stake and Activity

Bahamut’s PoSA builds on classic Proof of Stake. In addition to stake size, the protocol uses an “activity” score—based on actual usage (gas consumed) by smart contracts linked to validators—to influence block‑proposal chances and rewards. This aligns network incentives with real utility: validators who deploy widely used apps gain more activity and, over time, more opportunities to validate blocks. (coinlive.com)

EVM compatibility and developer stack

Because Bahamut is EVM‑compatible, developers can port Solidity smart contracts and use familiar tools. FTN is the gas token on Bahamut mainnet (chain ID 5165). Network endpoints, explorers (FTNScan), and testnets are documented for quick setup, which helps teams ship dApps and wallets faster. (docs.bahamut.io)

Security and audits

Prior to launching its own L1, the project completed third‑party security assessments for its token contracts with Hexens and CertiK. The ecosystem also runs formal grants and hackathons that encourage peer review, code quality, and transparent competition among teams. (fasttoken.com)

Tokenomics & Utility

Supply, burns, and issuance

Fasttoken tokenomics are designed around the 880 million total supply on Bahamut. On October 26, 2023, 120 million FTN were burned on Ethereum as part of the migration and validator‑rewards plan, reducing the supply from 1 billion to 880 million. Those tokens are gradually minted on Bahamut as staking rewards for validators, following the whitepaper schedule. This ties issuance to network security and participation over time. (fasttoken.com)

Public materials outline allocations across presale, private rounds, public sale, ecosystem development, marketing/PR, founders, advisors, and partners. The emphasis is on long‑term ecosystem funds, validator rewards, and staged unlocks that support network growth. (tokenomist.ai)

Utility in practice

• Gas and transactions: FTN pays transaction fees across all Bahamut dApps.
• Staking and validation: Token holders stake to help secure the network and participate in PoSA economics.
• Cross‑chain and compatibility: With EVM support, FTN can bridge and interact with other ecosystems where supported tools are available.
• Payments and commerce: FTN is integrated with multiple payment providers and used across e‑commerce and partner sites. (docs.bahamut.io)

Economic alignment

By linking validator selection to both stake and real contract usage, Fasttoken tokenomics (Fasttoken tokenomics) reward activity that grows the network. This approach aims to reduce passive staking and instead drive a cycle where building useful apps increases on‑chain activity, which then supports FTN demand for gas and staking.

Ecosystem & Use Cases

DeFi, NFTs, gaming

Bahamut’s early ecosystem highlights DeFi (DEXs, liquid staking, lending), NFTs (marketplaces and “phygital” concepts), and gaming integrations. In community updates, the team points to Ortak, Lolik, Mutuari, and YoHealth as active apps using the chain, alongside grants and hackathons that continue to bring in new projects. FTN’s footprint spans payments, online services, and Fasttoken DeFi, NFTs, gaming end‑to‑end. (fasttoken.com)

Adoption signals

• Addresses and activity: Project updates cite millions of addresses and a growing list of exchanges and payment integrations, reflecting broader awareness. (fasttoken.com)
• Staking traction: Tens of millions of FTN are locked via staking contracts and liquid staking dApps, showing engagement from token holders who support validator operations. (fasttoken.com)
• Grants and hackathons: The Bahamut Foundation funds builders through a 10 million FTN grants program and sponsors global hackathons to seed more dApps and infrastructure. (businesswire.com)

Payments and real‑world tie‑ins

The Fastex exchange, YoWallet, and card products focus on practical spending and custody, while partnerships with 10+ gateways help merchants and apps accept FTN. The ecosystem also experiments with “FTN Notes” as collectible, phygital instruments for community members. (fastex.com)

Advantages & Challenges

What Fasttoken does well

• Utility‑driven consensus: PoSA adds a real‑use metric to validator selection, encouraging builders to launch useful contracts rather than idle stake. (coinlive.com)
• EVM familiarity: Developers can deploy with Solidity, reuse tooling, and tap into existing web3 standards.
• Multi‑product ecosystem: Exchange, wallet, grants, and payment rails provide an integrated path from building to user adoption. (businesswire.com)
• Audited components and public road‑shows: Independent audits and visible participation in major industry events build credibility. (fasttoken.com)

What may be harder

• Ecosystem depth: Like any newer L1, Bahamut must keep attracting quality dApps and liquidity to compete with larger chains.
• Interpreting token design: The “activity” component is innovative, but it requires education so validators, devs, and users fully understand how rewards and selection work over time.

Where to Buy & Wallets

Centralized exchanges (CEXs)

FTN is available on multiple global exchanges. Public listings include platforms like Bitget and WhiteBIT, among others, and the token is accessible through the Fastex Exchange with standard onboarding. Regional listings (e.g., in India or Turkey) are also noted by exchange calendars and announcements. Always check availability for your location before you trade. (bitget.com)

If you’re researching where to buy FTN, starting with recognized exchanges that support FTN/USDT spot pairs is common. The live FTN price and chart will be shown in your interface when you’re ready to place an order.

Self‑custody and wallets

• YoWallet: The ecosystem’s mobile wallet supports Bahamut and Ethereum, with NFT management, notifications, and plans for deeper DeFi features. (yowallet.io)
• MetaMask and EVM wallets: Because Bahamut is EVM‑compatible, you can add the Bahamut mainnet to MetaMask (chain ID 5165; RPC endpoints available) and use FTN as the native gas token. Explorer links (FTNScan) make it easy to track transactions. (docs.bahamut.io)

Tip: When adding networks, use official docs or reputable chain registries to confirm RPC details. Then test with a small transaction first to ensure you’re on the right chain.

Regulatory & Compliance

Global posture

Fastex states that it operates within applicable laws in each region where it offers services, with specific entities holding registrations or approvals. In the European Union, Fastex Europe UAB is registered in Lithuania as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP), authorizing exchange and custody services in line with local rules. (eu.fastex.com)

In the United States, a June 2025 release announced Fastex’s expansion into 27 U.S. states and territories, noting MSB registration and specific money transmitter authorizations (including California, New Jersey, Michigan, and Arizona), with additional licenses in progress as it scales its offering for American users. Availability and features can vary by state while licensing expands. (prnewswire.com)

KYC/AML practices

Fastex materials describe standard identity verification (KYC) and business verification (KYB) processes, along with ongoing monitoring and enhanced due diligence for higher‑risk profiles. This aligns with common expectations for regulated VASPs across the EU and many global markets. (eu.fastex.com)

Halal and Shariah considerations

Is Fasttoken halal? FTN does not cite a widely recognized, independent Shariah certification as of the latest public materials. In practice, “FTN shariah compliant” assessments may differ by scholar and screening framework. Many reviewers evaluate whether a token avoids interest (riba), excessive uncertainty (gharar), and gambling (maysir), and whether the core business model is ethically permissible. Because FTN operates as a utility and gas token for a general‑purpose blockchain, some may view it favorably on technical grounds; others may weigh ecosystem associations and real‑world integrations differently. If “Fasttoken halal” status matters to you, consider obtaining a specific screening from a qualified Shariah advisory.

Bottom line on status

• EU: VASP registration in Lithuania supports exchange and custody services under local rules. (eu.fastex.com)
• US: Publicly announced MSB registration and money transmitter licenses in a growing set of states; expansion continues. (prnewswire.com)

These points reflect the Fasttoken regulatory status as described by the project and public releases and may evolve as licensing advances.

Future Outlook

What to watch next

• Builder incentives at scale: If PoSA keeps attracting dApps that people use, network activity could deepen and sustain long‑term demand for FTN gas and staking.
• Grants and hackathons: The 10 million FTN grants program and recurring hackathons aim to onboard more teams in DeFi, infra, gaming, and NFT experiences. Expect more tooling, oracles, RNGs, and cross‑chain integrations on the roadmap. (businesswire.com)
• Wallet and payments: Continued upgrades to YoWallet and more payment connections can improve end‑user experience, which often helps with mainstream adoption. (fastex.com)
• Regional licensing: In the US and other major markets, additional licenses and partnerships can broaden the exchange, fiat ramps, and institutional access. (prnewswire.com)

Competitive position

Fasttoken’s angle is clear: reward activity, not just stake. That design speaks to builders who want their apps to matter economically. Combined with EVM compatibility and a growing roster of integrations, the network positions itself as a practical chain for everyday payments, Fasttoken DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and new phygital concepts.

Summary

Fasttoken (FTN) is the native currency of the Bahamut layer‑1, where PoSA ties validator rewards to both stake and real contract usage. The FTN token pays gas, secures the chain through staking, and powers applications across payments, DeFi, NFTs, and gaming. The project reports a post‑burn total supply of 880 million, audits of core token contracts, dozens of exchange listings, and integrations with 10+ payment providers—plus a grants program to accelerate builder growth. While regulatory footprints differ by region, the team outlines EU VASP registration and a 2025 push into the United States with MSB and state licenses. For readers tracking FTN price and adoption, the key thesis is utility: if more useful apps launch and attract users, PoSA’s activity rewards can create a virtuous cycle for builders, validators, and the broader ecosystem.
