Benqi (QI) Token Unlock & Vesting Schedule
The chart shows gross modeled releases of every allocation: vesting unlocks, new issuance and reserve distributions, each allocation counted once. These have different meanings; a scheduled release is not evidence that tokens entered circulation or were sold. Review the coverage, sources and assumptions below.
Each color segment in the chart corresponds to a specific allocation group described in the Allocations section below. Underlying assumptions and data models used to reconstruct this schedule are explained in detail under Assumptions, while broader utility insights and token use cases are covered in Tokenomics & Utility.
Tokenomics & Utility
QI’s documented total supply is 7.2 billion tokens. BENQI allocated 3.24 billion QI, or 45% of that supply, to community incentives. Other allocations include 1.08 billion for the foundation, 720 million for core contributors, 360 million for exchange liquidity, and portions for seed, private, and public sales. The allocations were designed to support development, participation, and access to the token. (docs.benqi.fi)
QI’s central use is staking for BENQI Miles, formerly called veQI. Miles build over time while QI remains staked and provide voting power in Node Voting. Holders can direct that power toward eligible Avalanche validators. Under BENQI’s documented system, 35% of delegations from its liquid staking pool go through the Miles voting pool; the remaining 65% go through an open pool for qualifying validators. Unstaking any QI resets the holder’s accumulated Miles balance. (docs.benqi.fi)
QI also has uses beyond voting. BENQI describes it as a supported asset in its lending markets, and Ignite’s validator services include ways to stake or pay with QI. The project’s stated longer-term goal is to expand token-holder governance, while Node Voting provides a defined role today. (docs.benqi.fi)
Assumptions
All 7.2 billion QI were minted on August 11, 2021; later releases move existing tokens rather than create more. BENQI documents vesting for contributors, the foundation and token-sale buyers, although the equal payments used to display most of those schedules are estimates. Community incentives and exchange-liquidity distributions have published budgets but no complete dated payment schedule; Binance separately documents a 22 million QI reward campaign whose funding allocation is unknown. The chart can show the genesis mint, documented launch unlock and estimated vesting dates, but it cannot place the undated distributions on a timeline.
